Грифоны величественно возлежат у царского трона в Кноссосе и фигурируют там же в виде рельефов. Грифоны изображаются на критских погребальных ларнаках, и это же существо становится крылатым спутником восседающей на троне богини на фреске из Акротири, а затем многократно ретранслируется в микенской уже культуре на печатях, кольцах, фресках и керамике.
